The one-thousand series of courts shoes lives on, with the New Balance MC 1007 2E, carrying on the high level of comfort, cushioning, and breathability it is known for. senior playerI'm a 71 year old male 4.5 and my mobility isn't as good as it once was; however, these shoes are perfect for me - wide and comfortable. (and I think they look good too!) I can teach and or play for several consecutive hours with no discomfort.
Super comfortable but fabric quality poorAs mentioned by other reviews, the fabric quality is terrible. I'm an aggressive mover on court and put in 6-8 hours on this shoe every week. After about 5 months, the fabric below the N logo ripped apart while on court. Tennis Warehouse customer support is the best and they offered a full store credit.

Nice wide comfortable toe boxI had been wearing the KSwiss Lite 2E shoes for pickleball and began to notice my feet were sore after playing and looked like I was developing a bunion. So I bought a pair of the NB1007 and the NB996V2 both 2E widths looking for a wider toe box. I kept the NB1007 and returned the NB996V2. The NB1007 felt wider in the toe box and much more comfortable even when playing for 5 hours straight. I also notice my shins don’t feel as beaten up after playing as the NB seem to have plenty of cushioning. Definitely will be sticking with the NB1007s.
DEFECTIVE SHOESThis is my third pair of Black MC1007 black shoes. My first pair was returned and I was sent a replacement by Tennis Warehouse due to the tear in the shoes. After wearing those, they tore right after the 3 month mark so I couldn't return them. I purchased another pair August 6, 2025 and they are tearing again, and will be contacting Tennis Warehouse for replacement.
I can only wear these shoes. I have tried all the 2E shoes at your Warehouse in San Luis Obispo and even bought the KSwiss to try and they are not as comfortable as these. The previous MC1006 shoes needs to be brought back and.New Balance needs to know about this shoe.

Not the 1006May be a good tennis shoe for someone but not if you thought you were getting an updated 1006. It’s nothing like it at all. Hey NB, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
Comfortable and supportiveHave been looking for a substitute for the shoes (996’s ?) I had been buying for several years. These are supportive and very comfortable. The laces are way too long, though, so consider swapping them out.
Toe box seemed too wide…I normally order an 112E but this time the toe box was wider than normal. Even with two pairs of sox it was too lose.
NB MC 1007Good Shoe 2 wide a little to large. Hard to do split step wo stung fit. Otherwise, comfortable shoe for 80 yr singles player.

Very DependableI have been using New Balance shoes for close to 10 years now and this model for the last few seasons. It is as dependable as you like in terms of durability and comfort.
Be aware 1006 fans1007 is nowhere near the 1006 version. I wore 2E size 8.5, bought different sizes for my tennis buddies but do not recommend this one as a replacement for the discontinued 1006. It’s too bulky, heavy feeling with a large toe compartment that my ties were moving inside all the time. I also wear the CT Rally which now I like it better to 1007. You may want to consider CT Rally as it’s more cushioned and holds the foot better.

New Balance MC 1007 8.5 DBeen wearing NB 1006 but it is not available now. Trying the NB 1007 for the first time. Good support but not as comfortable as the 1006. Softer fusion.

Beware Of SizingI am not near as happy with the MC1007 as I have been with the now discontinued MC1006 which I had worn for years and loved them. I have always worn a 11.5, 2E but beware, the same size in the MC1007 are a full 0.5 size larger in length and width in the toe box. My foot slips around inside of them too much. Unfortunately I have worn them a few times thinking it was the right shoe otherwise I would have returned them for a smaller size. Compared to the MC1006, the MC1007 is a bit heavier and not as flexible with the added toe guard stabilizers. But I do like the Fresh Foam insoles for comfort. I will definitely purchase a different NB shoe next time, one that is truer to my beloved MC1006.

Fell apartBought in January size 11.5, 4E. Side split in 2-3 weeks. Replaced with voucher. New pair split in same place on both shoes in less than 6 weeks. There is obviously a flaw in design and/or manufacturing for shoes to blow out in just weeks. Not good.

Heavier, but good flat feet supportAfter I got used to the weight, I’ve found these shoes give me the best support for a flat footer. I even stopped using my knee braces. Great space in the toe box (2E).
Very disappointedI've worn the 1000 line of tennis shoe for years. This is the first time I've regretted buy one. Take a pass.
Much larger than stated sizeNice looking and well constructed, but much larger than the stated size. Larger than the 1006 it replaces.
