This shoe features a one-time TW 6-month outsole durability guarantee. If you wear through the outsole within 6-months of purchasing from Tennis Warehouse you can return the pair for replacement.

Please note:

  • Warranty only covers the rubber outsole of the shoe. Damage to the toe-guard or upper of the shoe does not qualify for the warranty replacement.
  • Shoe must be completely worn through the outsole and into the midsole or insole of the shoe.
  • Warranty is void if the shoe is abused or mishandled.

This fourth generation in the Lav/CT Rally franchise is even more breathable, just as comfortable, and still delivers the support and stability that we have come to love.

Having a reputation as one of the most comfortable, supportive, and stable shoes on the market, the New Balance CT Rally 2 D is now updated in its fourth iteration, and is here to carry on the legacy! Formerly known as the Lav, Lav v2, and CT Rally (1st gen), this update delivers the plush and cushioned ride that the line is known for, featuring Fresh Foam X located in the midsole. With an all new upper design, the Ndure technology has been updated to provide more ventilation, while still providing durability in drag zones, and FantomFit gives a seamlessly comfortable and flexible feel on top of the foot. The NDurance rubber has been re-formulated to provide an even grippier feel on court, and is molded into a herringbone pattern that performs best on hard courts, but will work well on a variety court surfaces. Backed by a six-month NDurance outsole guarantee.

  • Upper: NDure upper with a new design that keeps the flexibility, and support, but adds more breathability and comfort. External frame in the heel and FantomFit for increased lock-down and ankle support.
  • Midsole: Fresh Foam X for a plush a comfortable ride, and increased energy return compared to Fresh Foam.
  • Outsole: NDurance rubber outsole in a modified herringbone tread pattern provides great traction and durability on any court surface, but is ideal on hard courts. Backed by a six-month NDurance outsole guarantee.
  • Color: Glint Blue / Black

No durabilityI love the look and feel of this shoe so I purchased a second pair as backup shortly after purchasing the first. I wore holes in the soles at the toe of my first pair very quickly, and I just started wearing my second pair. The soles in the second pair are coming loose at the heel on both shoes after only two sessions. BTW, I usually wear ASICS Gel, and I’ve never worn through a sole in them before the uppers give.

Really wanted to like themI’ve played in these for a little over a month. I really wanted to like them. The Lav v1 was the absolute perfect shoe and I loved them. These are a far cry from perfect. The good: Cushioning and breathability. These shoes are cushioned like a running shoe and my feet never felt overheated. The bad: There seems to be extra padding in the arches that makes my feet pronate and overtime that became uncomfortable. The heels are not wedged shape and when planting to change directions I’ve come very close to rolling my ankle a few times. The shoe feels high off the ground and plays that way. The shoe laces lower on your foot so two pairs of socks is a must. I’ve lost the shoe off my foot a few times when wearing a single pair. I wanted to like these but I’m going to have to replace them so I don’t get injured.

Not for slidingThese shoes feel like they are on a platform. They don’t offer any support to the outside of your foot. Instead, it feels like you’re balancing on a platform. I tried sliding after a sprint on hard court getting a shot and nearly broke my ankle as the shoe completely gave out and came off my foot. Very comfortable if you’re mostly walking around on the court but for real match play get something else. I’m a 5.0 player and I’ll be looking for other options.

DisappointedI own 9 pairs of the original CT Rally version. The 2E width was perfect and cushioning great, with no break in period. They were my all time favorite shoes. The new version didn’t meet expectations. The toe area felt tight, even with 2E width and with sole inserts my feet were killing me after 2 hrs. Missing the overall foot comfort and support I got from the originals.

Some design flawsThese are noticeably narrow compared to the previous model, even in the EE size. In addition they need to add an extra eyelet for a better fit around the heel and make the tongue longer. Unfortunately not as good as the previous version.

Not for MeAlthough this shoe seemed to be relatively well-cushioned, it had that rigid construction that I found when I was previously searching for pickleball shoes. Regrettably I ultimately returned it.

Good Shoe/sneakerGood shoe for the money… Using on hard court.

A big step back..For those that really liked the V1, I’d consider looking elsewhere… this fits extremely differently, is much less comfortable/quality, and the lacing isn’t great. I have extremely thin/narrow feet, and the V1s were great for me. For the first time, I’d found a shoe that removed the constant toe damage I often face (runners knot is great for this.) They did something odd with the laces for this one that “looks cool” but seems both less secure and I’m doubtful will hold up long term. Runners knot does not help. Plus, the comfort of the shoe (especially the insole that comes in it) is subpar for this price range. Something the V1 excelled at. I’d recommend looking elsewhere, even if you don’t have the challenges I have related to narrow/thin feet. Only positive is it does feel lighter on the foot than the V1.

Great ShoeThis shoe is really comfortable. I wear it as my primary shoe for about 8 hours of pickleball per week. It's probably the most comfortable shoe I've worn in the past 3 years. I've had the shoes for 2 months and the outsoles are showing some wear. If I get another 2 months from them before having to exercise the 6 month sole guarantee, I'll consider that a decent life (8 months for $150) and probably buy another pair.

Heavy ShoeShoe is comfortable but honestly probably the heaviest shoe I have ever worn.
