Addictive feel and plenty of confidenceMy past main racquets have been the Kblade 18x20, yonex duel g 330, Wilson pro staff 97, and Wilson blade 16x19 v8. My grip is between an eastern and semi wester with a more linear swing pattern. I hit defensive top spin when I want to push opponents back. I debated very long to get this racquet and even longer deciding between the 16x19 vs 18x20. I ultimately got the 16x19 because having the slightly higher net clearance gives me confidence but to be honest, there really wasn’t too large of a difference vs the 18x20 besides a heavier swingweight - it all comes down to mechanics. Pros: This racquet feels wonderful. It’s one of the few racquets that feel plush and allows you to swing out confidently knowing exactly where the ball will land and the depth. I love that it comes in light in stock because I am very particular with my swing and static weight. After adding lead to 3,9,12 and a leather grip, this racquet swings like my old pro staff v13 with a serving confidence of a Blade. Cons: With that said, it will punish you even more than the pro staff on off centered shots or when you get lazy. The ball will fall well into the service box allowing your opponent to attack. This is purely a control racquet requiring you to be on point and generate your own power. So, if you’re not using your legs and transferring that energy to your swing, you will get tired very quickly. Conclusion: you can’t find racquets like this anymore. The confidence it provides you, the control, depth placement, and feel are something of the past. As an attacking player, I value these things as I need to swing fully with accuracy - this comes in handy when playing pushers. I’m definitely buying an additional racquet as I’m sad these are no longer offered. If you have a more linear swing path and drive into the ball instead of fast head speed, I think this is for you and you will enjoy it. Strings: Yonex Poly Tour Pro 125 52lbsx50lbs

Ultra Pro-mehI bought the ultra pro V4 18 x 20. It was headlight. Stable. Maneuverable. And I loved it for about four weeks until I started getting severe pains in my arms and elbow. Never happened before with any other racquet. So I returned the racquet and continued using my Ezone 98L My arm issues went away within a week. I love the EZone 98L. So when this racquet came on sale I thought wow, let me give it another shot, but this time instead of the 18th x 20 I’ll do the 16 x 19 Well right out of the package I started swinging it around and moving it and realized it didn’t have the same magic (even just by swinging And not hitting it) especially compared to my E zone 98L Which by now I’ve gotten used to playing with and was in a winning streak So the Ultra Pro felt a little bit flat. Swinging it through the air felt like having to push it through the air, and it did not glide swiftly through the air like my 98L. I realize there is definitely something to the technology of other brands versus the box flat frame of this particular Wilson You can just tell the difference. . So I returned it. Unused I like the concept and the specs but obviously I would recommend an E zone 98L over this racquet

Almost perfectI’m 49 and have played with a Dunlop 200 pro series (18x20) for over a decade. Wrist issues have me looking for a lighter racquet with more power and spin but retain as much feel as possible. I did a demo with this racquet, a Tecnifibre TF40-305 (18X20) and a Babolat Pure Strike (16X19). Results were surprising. I threw in the Wilson as a wild card and ended up liking it the best. Expected to like the pure strike because of specs and reviews but ended up hating it. No feel and felt dead on every shot. Might just be an extreme difference between dunlops and babolats. The Ultra was a little better than the Tecnifibre on the forehand. The TF40 had better control, but a TINY sweet spot. The Ultra felt solid and had a ton easy spin. Will take a while to get used to the power but was able to spin the ball in pretty easily. The Ultra was a big winner on the serve. Easy power and spin. Felt great. Exactly what I need to win a few more easy points off the serve. The TF40 was very poor on the serve due to the small sweet spot. Really struggled. The TF40 was wonderful for my one-handed backhand. Almost won the playtest for that shot alone. The Ultra was good once I got used to it, but it really feels like it wants to be hit by a 2-hander. Again, I figured out how to spin the heck out of it and keep it in without much effort. It’s a compromise, but one I am looking for. Both were good on volleys for different reasons. TF40 had better touch, but the Wilson had point and shoot put away power. Will mostly be blocking back volleys with the ultra instead of my normal drop volleys. You definitely need to consider this racquet if you like the feel of a “players racquet” but need some extra power and spin. Especially if you have a 2-handed backhand.

Wow!I got this racquet on sale and mainly just for fun to see how a 97in frame would feel for my game. Admittedly, I also just thought the paint job was beautiful, so that was another selling point. I am a counterpuncher that likes to attack the net at opportune times. I would definitely say this racquet requires some modifications. I added 2g of lead to 3 and 9 and 12 and replaced the grip for a leather one to keep it head light. One thing I was shocked by is how maneuverable this frame is and also how great I could hit backhands down the line. I’m not sure if this will become my go-to stick but it is definitely a contender. I’m still working out my serve with this racquet, but the ability to get back and smack returns really makes this stick appealing to my game.

Player’s ChoiceThis racquet is phenomenal. Volleys feel crisp and have a lot of POP. It’s got plenty of power and good control. Spin generation is middle of the road. It’s extremely nice looking too. I’m a 4.0 level guy and it’s offering everything I need and more and is offered at a great price.

Like a Prestige with more of everythingThis is a gorgeous, classic-feeling racquet. It’s absolutely stunning because of the gloss, metallic finish. It’s a Pro Labs release from Wilson, so you won’t see these other than in pro player’s hands with potentially different paint (e.g., made to look like a Blade). I’d describe it as feeling like a Prestige Pro with a little more power due to a thicker beam and more spin due to the string spacing. I actually like the warm feel of this a little better. The only catch is that this frame needs to be modified to really sing. I added weight at the tip (12 o’clock) for swingweight points and at 3- and 9-o’clock for twistweight stability for off center shots. At this close out price point, it’s worth the 20-30 minutes of effort and $5 in tungsten tape to make that changes. It’s a very versatile frame that does everything well when weighted up properly. It will most appeal to folks with long, classic strokes. It handles fast and medium paced shots well, unlike some modern frames where one needs to fully commit and rip every shot.

Ultra v4 my new racquet of choiceThis stick just hit the right spots. Had to customize it with some weight at 10 12 and 2 o’clock. The 4 from tennis warehouse all came in at 1 gram difference 303 and 302 static unstrung weight. Have been mostly happy with soft shaped poly for mains and slick round poly for crosses. The hidden dream stick. My previous go to was a head prestige mpl. The ultra pro just does it the best.

Right for meThe Wilson Ultra Pro v 4 97 is very head light and so feels very maneuverable. It is excellent for volleys (reel pop if hit out in front) and serves and I find it also very good for groundstrokes. I have a long swing, need racquet quickness, and I do not have a lot of upper body strength, so this racquet is perfect for me. I find that when strung at 57 lb. (Tecnifibre multifeel 17) the racquet can impart stress to my elbow and I will be backing down the tension when I string next. The racquet has a squishy feel and decent control.

ULTRA PRO 16X19 V4Tried multiple racquets for the last few years. This offer the best feel, and IMHO the best for serving. Ordered two with the same specs and then another to match. this is probably the most underrated stick out there. Excellent service from Tennis Warehouse.

A classic feeling frame with spinWhat a frame this is. I've used control frames in the past but nothing has quite felt this good since my days with a VCore Tour G or Pro 330. While this is not as heavy as either frame, both of the racquets I ordered came in at 325 strung before adding an over grip. I was glad they both came in at the same specification. My only complaint is that they were strung at substantially different tensions. One is around 55 and the other feels like 45. The good news is that I actually prefer the frame with the lower tension. I don't think I'll need to add much weight to it at all since I got great ball pocketing, power, and spin. Coming from the Speed MP, this is exactly what I'm looking for: a comfortable, smooth feeling frame that has enough to keep up with other 4.5 players with different styles of play. I noticed that I can hit the ball nice and flat as well as with spin to back my opponent of the baseline. My hitting partners noticed a difference with the ball coming off these frames. I ended up ordering a 3rd one! It was instant love within the first 5 minutes.

Amazing FeelHave demoed 20+ racquets this year and this one has the best feel of anything I've tried. Plays stiffer than the rating indicates. Paint looks incredible and string pattern allows for aggressive angles and dipping balls. Racquet I received is almost identical to the TW demo, about a gram under.

Power racketPrior to using the v4 I was using the v3 it felt more stiff compared to this one but I loved playing with it I didn’t think I needed an upgrade but when I started playing with the v4 it felt amazing and it was a lot more forgiving. Although I did experience a little wrist pain after the first week or two. The weight is more in the head not as much in the handle compared to the v3. Overall love this racquet

Wilson giving the people what they want!I'm really happy that Wilson are listening to the masses and making this racquet more available to the public. I love the aesthetics of this frame by Wilson. But coming from a Head and Prince background... I find the Wilson grip shape too wide and rectangular and wish it was more round like the newer Prince or Head TK82S pallets. I think Wilson deliberately made these rackets so that you can't easily swap out pallets. If they truly cared about players, they wouldn't have done this. We would buy their racquets ANYWAY... the paintjobs are awesome. But comfort and familiarity is top priority for players. I have had to do some tedious DIY to make the grips rounder and it still feels odd. Wilson... you didn't need to do this. Very low of you to do this. I actually prefer the H22 (Blade Pro) over the H19 (Ultra Pro) purely for the proper head weight it has. The Ultra is just too light. And yes i know it was meant for customization... but seriously... if you are an advanced player who can swing.... you don't need it THAT light. Plus some of us avoid lead tape like the plague because we understand its danger. Wilson, GREAT JOB, But cheeky on the non-customizable foam grip mould.

Spectacular frameIssuing the Wilson Ultra Pro v4 in a brand new 16x19 string pattern, while keeping everything else the same as the traditional dense 18x20 pattern from previous versions is genius. It's now more easily spin friendly, with a touch more power compared to its 18x20 sibling yet still maintains it's control oriented heritage. A frame with all round playability and those folks who want to increase the stock swing weight can easily do that. All court players will love that classic box beam feel at the net. Wilson hit a home run with this one.

Glad They are HerePro Staffs are too stiff, and blades lack feel nowadays, as a 10+ utr player, when I signed a contract with Wilson I couldn’t find a racquet that had what I needed without being too heavy, but these sticks are amazing. I added lead in the hoop and a leather grip and you basically can take a platform players frame and make it exactly what you need for your game. Been waiting for the new paint job for a while and I’m super stoked it’s here.
