Overview

The OLO ball is the official ball of the new sport of TYPTI. After many prototypes and in-depth testing, these unique foam balls have three centered grooves and a distinct red stripe allowing you to see and feel the spin. They are designed to bounce higher than a tennis ball so there is massive power and spin potential on every shot! Not made for tennis.

  • 3 balls per pack
  • Weight: 29 grams per ball

Note: Due to the handmade construction, slight variance may occur between balls.

They are greatI’ve seen mixed reviews on the balls and I don’t agree at all with the negative ones. Yesterday we played a 5-4 set with a ball and then friends played with that same ball today. It’s in great shape. We’ll use it again tomorrow. I have A/B’d it against Penn and Wilson foam balls and it’s not even close. These Tipty balls are significantly better.

Wonderful hitsI just couldn’t love the feel of crunching this ball. It is pure perfection. I play all the racket sports. Typti is my favorite ball and hit.

Poor build qualityWe were really excited when we received our new balls. Unfortunately, after about 45 minutes of playing they were toast. One ball had a tear in it and the other one looked like little chunks were taken out of it. Also, the build quality needs to be improved. Even the new ball doesn’t have straight lines on it. This is a great new sport and we’re enjoying tremendously however, if the ball is going to last less than an hour, it’s going to deter players from continuing. One option I can recommend is to use the Penn junior foam ball. The dimensions and foam are almost identical. We haven’t worn them out yet and we’ve been playing with them for 3 weeks now. I’m sure the ball is not legal for tournaments/leagues, but if you’re just doing it for fun and exercise then it’s the more affordable way to go. I’m hoping racket companies join in and start creating rackets for Tipty at a more affordable price soon. Both tennis and Pickleball have paddles and rackets available for under $75 that are pretty decent.

Too expensive and not durableToo expensive and not durable. Ball.only.last an hr and is totally non playable. Please find a way to make these ball.last loner and more affordable. No one is going to keep playing this game, if we have to burn through these balls in an hour

TYPTI balls aren’t cheap nor durableFun game but it can be expensive quickly due to the ball lacking in longevity. Its cost over $6 a ball w/ shipping and probably lasts 3 matches. Not sure if folks will continue to play due to high initial cost for a racquet and the price of their ball. Racquets are priced significantly higher than other very similar racquet/paddle court games at over $150 per racquet.

Typti BallWe already play tennis, pickleball and padel so we are all in to try typti!! This is a fun idea - like touch tennis in the UK. the balls were pricey - we had fun trying them with different racquets we had on hand - jr racquets were too light and we nearly threw out our shoulders, speedminton racquets were a little better at 6.5 oz, 9.5 oz full size tennis racquets were good but too long. Also the typti foam ball got a little chewed up with the narrower string patterns of these racquets. I’m sure the typti racquets would be perfect but they seem a bit pricey - I wish we could demo some first…our club has tried to get some for us but they have yet to receive a response after phoning, emailing and applying for a dealer account. I will probably end up buying the typti racquets if I get a chance to demo them somewhere.

Wow did they nail the ballThe center stripe is genius. You can read the spins coming at you so easily. It's like it adds another dimension to the sport. We A/B'd them against some junior balls that were basically the same size but did not have the channels. We didn't think they would be that different. The TYPTI balls were much much better.
