Overview

Introducing the thinnest version of Gamma's Jet co-poly. At only 1.14mm, this string has massive spin potential. It also has a low-power level, making it easier for you to attack the ball with your most powerful strokes. At $10, this is an obvious choice for value hunters, especially if they want extra spin.

  • Gauge: 18/1.14 mm
  • Length: 40ft/12.2m
  • Composition: Co-polyester Monofilament
  • Color: Black, Blue, Lime

Gamma Jet 18g limeSwitched from full beds of Gamma Jet 16L and Solinco Hyper G 17. Love the 18g Gamma Jet. Crisp and high RPM spin, but with good feel and not a problem on the arm. Tension degrades predictably. Swing away - feels like the ball is never going out. Like this better than 16 or 17 if you are a big (heavy ball) hitter and don't mind breaking strings a bit more often.

Comments: Gamma AMP Jet 18 crossed with Gosen OG Sheep Micro 17 black provides a very crisp, comfortable, spin-friendly string bed. Also, it's a great value. I'm a 4.0 player just getting back into tennis, and experimenting with a bunch of hybrid string setups in my 2 Blade V7 18x20 racquets. To me, AMP Jet is a nice combination of the best attributes of everything I've tried recently (Gosen Polylon 17, Confidential 17, Hyper-G 17, Luxilon 4G, and MSV Focus Hex 17 in red). It holds tension very well, gives great spin potential, feels crisp, and has really great snap-back, even after several hours of play. Compared to Polylon 17, Jet feels more elastic and has better snap-back and spin potential. I did like Confidential 17, and would still consider using it in my mains, but Jet 18 is more cost-effective and seems to provide more spin potential and crisp feel. I found Hyper-G 17 to be a bit too lively and not as comfortable. Luxilon 4G crossed with Wilson Sensation is noticeably more plush and soft, but does not provide as much spin potential (but a great string setup for flatter hitters). MSV Focus Hex feels more boardy, and did not hold tension as well. I don't want to spend too much time searching for the perfect string setup, and if I had to stop now, I'd be happy. I'd recommend this hybrid setup to anyone as a good place to start.

Comments: Love this string. Very spin-friendly, but also has control, especially on slices. The thin gauge also allows me to get a lot of feel for a poly. I strung at 50 pounds and 48 pounds with a Wilson Pro Staff 97 and Prince Phantom 100X 305g
