Engineered for speed.

With its fabled combination of speed, power, and spin, the Pure Aero practically stands in a class by itself, not just for its legendary accomplishments, but also for its easy learning curve and universal appeal. Like the many versions that came before it, the Pure Aero 2026 features the same basic spec formula that has attracted generations of players. With its sub-325 swingweight, it offers easy acceleration from the baseline and quick handling at net, delivering the kind of spin-friendly targeting that puts the lines in play. For 2026, Babolat re-engineers the geometry of the shaft to reduce wind drag, giving this speedy racquet an even more explosive feel, making it even easier to whip up spin, generate pace, or reset the point with an outstretched flick. Other updates include the latest version of NF2 Tech, a dampening technology that uses flax fibers in strategic locations to provide a softer, more arm-friendly ride. As with the previous generation, this update has FSI Spin Technology, which combines Babolat's time-tested Woofer system with strategically placed Spin Grommets to increase dwell time and string movement, generating greater spin and a more responsive feel on angled contact. With some nice updates to the feel coupled with a more aerodynamic geometry, the Pure Aero continues to evolve. Players looking for speed, spin, and power should start here.

DisappointedNothing at all like the 2023 took what was great about the pure aero and ruined it

Pure aero 2026The best racquet I've ever used (and it's very good). Spin, contact and handle maneuverable. Note, my weight with snare weighed 330 grams. Normal 318 grams. 12.0 weight. Let's weigh it up

DisappointingVery disappointing playtest from my pro shop. Current Pure Aero 23 user and loved the control it had over the other last two pure aeros. However this raquet really lost the Pure Aero heritage. It was extremely muted and felt extremely low powered. I really struggled with being too quick with it on ground strokes and volleys felt anemic compared to prior models. I don’t get all the hype on here for this thing. It’s an ok racquet but definitely not as good as the 23. The feel and forgiveness for me are just completely lacking for this model.

They recommend a hybrid setupI was surprised to see that Babolat recommends a hybrid setup of rpm blast at 46 in mains and rpm rough at 55 on the crosses as written on the back of the included placard. This is the first manufacturer to do this as far as I know. I was going to go with volkl gut at 49 in mains and volkl v-square at 46 in the crosses prestretched. Why wasn’t this a big shift pointed out in the reviews? Mine is getting strung and looking forward to comparing it to my 2019 version with the same stringing

Fantastic blend of spin, control, and powerI recently switched from the Yonex Ezone 98 to the Aero 2026. It has been a very welcomed upgrade. I find the Aero gives me more spin and control helping me to keep the ball in the court with amazing depth. I have a tendency to overhit forehands long and the Aero has helped me keep the ball in the court and take some more aggressive short angles. I also noticed a little more forgiveness on off-center shots. Something I was definitely looking for. It might be slightly more difficult on the elbow, but that might be my stringing setup. I switched from hyper G to tour bite at the same time. Absolutely love this racquet. Would highly recommend folks give it a try if you are playing with anything in a similar category and are looking for a little more spin and control.

Another Upgrade in the Right DirectionMy review of the Babolat Pure Aero (100) 2026: String and tension used for test: Luxilon Alu Power 115 mains at 45lb and Tecnifibre Synthetic Gut 17 crosses at 47lb Tennis experience/background: Recreational player for 30 years. NTRP 4.0 doubles player. Describe your playing style (i.e. serve & volley): Mainly doubles player now. Can play at the net or baseline. Love to get into cross court rallies and mix up the spin. Current racquet/string setups: Babolat Pure Aero Rafa 2020 with Luxilon Alu Power 115 mains at 45lb and Tecnifibre Synthetic Gut 17 crosses at 47lb. This is my specialty setup that perfectly blends comfort and performance. Doesn’t last long though. How many hours did you play with the racquet? Over 10 hours. All indoors play. Comments on racquet performance for each stroke (each section should be 3-5 sentences minimum): -Groundstrokes: Off the bat, this racquet felt awesome. Swings just a slight bit heavier than my PAR20. I was able to generate tons of spin on my neutral rally forehand. I felt like my flat forehand had plenty of plow-through especially on returns and sitter kill shots. My one-handed backhand took longer to adjust to the racquet. I had to find my timing during the first hit. I blame it on my wrist lag. But as soon as I was dialed in, I was able to roll with heavy topspin from the baseline as expected. Backhand slices felt amazing on both offense and defense. They had tons of bite and stayed low and deep on my opponents. -Serves: I barely noticed much of a difference in swingweight for my serve as I have an abbreviated motion. My son said my flat serves had some good pace behind them and I was able to kick with ease. I felt very confident with this racquet. I even used it for two of my winter league doubles matches. -Volleys: The PA26 felt very maneuverable at net and ball contact felt solid. Again, my backhand volley had to take some getting used to. Nevertheless, I was very excited to hit every volley that I got. My high put-away volleys went where I wanted them to go, with authority. My do-nothing, reflex volleys didn’t feel like the racquet was about to get knocked out of my hands. I also really enjoyed hitting overheads with this thing. -Serve returns: I am an aggressive returner and love to step in on second serves. Forehands always felt great with both my short and full take backs. As expected, my one-handed backhand had a little trouble. Again, I had to adjust the timing. Once I began to return well, it was hard for servers to get into the rally as I was ripping my OHBH in all directions at different speeds. My backhand slice returns felt just as good. Even my short cross-court chips and chip lobs felt like I was already using this racquet full time. Comments on racquet performance in each area (should be 2-3 sentences minimum) Power/Control- My very wristy strokes were well complimented with this racquet. I was able to rip forehand winners on demand any time my opponents gave me the opportunity. I was never scared to pull the trigger with this stick whenever it came to ending a point on my terms. Top Spin/Slice- Like previous Aeros, this thing is. Spin Monster! Babolat does it again! I am mostly spin when it comes to serves and groundies and this racquet didn’t disappoint. Comfort- You can tell that this racquet is still stiff as any other Babolat. Even with my hybrid, low tension set up, I felt like it would bother someone with wrist, elbow, or shoulder issues. Feel- The racquet compliments any shot that put into it. I did miss a few drop shots at first during my first matchplay with it. Power shots felt great but can tell when I didn’t hit the sweet spot. I felt a bit of twist for off-centered shots. I’m sure those who like to add weight would enjoy tuning this stick to prevent that. Maneuverability- It’s an Aero! It’s built to move but slightly swing heavier than any predecessor. I started with the APDO, loved the Cortex, and then the PA19. Ended up with the PAR20 because it felt just a bit swing heavier to all of the above. The 2026 compared to them all is a step in slightly heavier direction. I’m not a singles guy, but this had me fatigued after a long service hold. Stability- like I said, off centered shots feel like the racquet is trying twist in my hand. Especially when hitting big with bigger hitters. I don’t like to add lead, but my friends said this racquet would benefit from it. General reaction/comments on overall performance: I did end up switching the replacement grip with the smaller Babolat Syntec Feel. My hand measures at a 4 1/4” grip but I prefer a 4 1/8” with an overgrip. I do plan to buy one when it officially comes out. I also received a lot of comments about the cosmetics of the racquets as soon as people saw me hitting with it. Younger players that are fans of the Aero recognized it immediately. Thank you Tennis Warehouse for another wonderful opportunity to playtest and look forward to anyone’s questions about my feedback.
